A Common Salsa Dance Steps Combination

Below are instructions on a basic salsa combination that will help you in learning salsa dance steps.

  1. Let your arms stay at your side until you have mastered the footwork. Start with having your feet shoulder-width apart and distribute your weight evenly between them.
  2. Step forwards your right foot and put weight on its ball. Shift back that weight to the left foot and then bring back the right foot next to the left.
  3. Step your left foot behind and put weight your left foot’s ball. Rock your body’s weight back to your right foot and them move back your left foot next to the right.
  4. Repeat this combination of salsa dance steps. Pick up speed as you get more comfortable with the steps.
  5. Once you have mastered the footwork on these salsa dance steps you can add arm and hip movements. When your right foot steps forward, you can make your hips rock to the right. When you step the left foot backward, make your hips swing to the left. Have your arms bend at an angle and use your arms to make small circles in front of your body. Simultaneously roll your shoulders in time with your footwork.

Once you have perfected these moves, you can now go out and show off your salsa dance steps with ease and confidence.
